It is particularly suitable for bonding textiles and leather. In restoration, it has proven its worth for bonding canvas tears. The tensile strength is sufficient in most cases. The easiest way to melt the powder is to use a hot soldering needle dipped in the powder, and then apply it in liquid form. The powder can also be melted in advance between two Hostaphan films with an iron to form a 1-2 mm thick film, and then cut into thin strips after cooling. Individual canvas threads can now be welded together with a soldering needle and these polyamide strips.
