Based on recipes from the 16th and 17th centuries, Oil of Delft, which consists of pure linseed oil, is still produced in the traditional way for use as a painting medium. It contains no siccatives or additives. The special treatment of the linseed oil allows a multi-layer paint application without having to consider the drying times of the individual layers.
